Connect to Genie to bring your upcoming patient list right into Lyrebird, allowing you to start a consult or dictation without manual entry.
Completed notes and letters will save directly to Genie using the "Save to Genie" button without the need to copy and paste.
How can I get the Genie integration?
To initiate the process of enabling the integration, please complete the request form linked below:
Once completed, a representative from our Support team will get in touch within 48 hours to establish next steps.
NOTE: The Genie integration is available to Trial or Pro users.
If you are on the Lite tier of Lyrebird, the integration will not be available.

Configuring for Remote Desktops Users (for Windows Servers)
These steps are for all users who access Genie via a remote desktop hosted on a Windows server.
If you use Genie via remote desktop and it is hosted on a Windows server, we will send you the installation links & steps directly.
Download the Lyrebird Genie Installer we email you and install it onto the Genie server computer as a Desktop App + Service. We recommend having your IT person handle this.
Input your relevant Genie details. The fields are as follows:
Site ID: Enter the Genie Site ID here. Ensure you always include the GEN prefix, no spaces. For example, GEN12345
Sender: Insert the name per the Sender details we send you.
Password: Insert the password per the Sender details we send you.
Host: Enter the Genie Host IP here
Port: Enter either the HTTP Port or the HTTPS Port here.
Use HTTPS: tick this if the Port you enter is the HTTPS port.
Once the above has been entered, be sure to click "Save" to ensure we can establish a connection.
Let us know which users within your organisation require access to the Genie x Lyrebird Integration. Please provide their Lyrebird account email addresses.
Once we've linked them from our end, users will be able to log in to Lyrebird through their browser, select upcoming patients, and begin a consultation. At the end of each consult, a "Save to EMR" button will appear in place of the usual "Copy" button, which will automatically pull the notes directly into Genie.
We also email across an Installer Guide and API Setup Guide PDF to ensure appointments can be pulled through correctly.
Configuring the Desktop App (Mac or Windows)
These steps apply to you if your setup meets any of the following criteria:
you use Lyrebird through a remote desktop server.
you do not access Genie via remote desktop in any instance.
1. Install the Lyrebird Health application using the link sent to you by our team.
2. Click the cog icon in the top right of the window to configure the Genie details. The Sender Name & Password should be listed per the set-up instruction email we send you.
Host: Enter the Genie Host IP here
Port: Enter either the HTTP Port or the HTTPS Port here.
Sender: Insert the name per the Sender details we send you.
Password: Insert the password per the Sender details we send you.
Site ID: Enter the Genie Site ID here. Ensure you always include the GEN prefix, no spaces. For example, GEN12345
Once filled out, click Save Settings, then click Sync Now.
3. Once this is done, please contact us so we can finalise and link your accounts.
We will need confirmation of the list of Genie uses who wish to use the Lyrebird information.
4. Now, your integration will be ready to use!
Clicking Refresh on the Upcoming Patients list will sync with patients within a 4-hour window. You can then click "Select" to auto-populate their name and continue using Lyrebird as usual.
5. Once a consult has been completed, use the "Save to Genie" button to save the consultation notes back into Genie. A little pop-up will appear confirming a successful save.
Now, when you open Genie, you will find the saved note under the patient's record.
Setup FAQ & Troubleshooting
My upcoming patient list isn't loading — what should I check?
Make sure your Site ID in Lyrebird's EHR settings includes the GEN prefix.

The practitioner list will not sync without the correct prefix.
Also, ensure you click the "Refresh" button which appears on the Upcoming Patient List tab on the consult page to sync for the most recent window.
I'm seeing a port error during setup. What ports does the integration use?
Check the following port settings in your installer:
HTTP Port: 19080 (use this when the HTTPS checkbox is unticked)
HTTPS Port: 19433 (use this when the HTTPS checkbox is ticked)
The installer is showing a .NET 4.8.1 error. How do I fix this?
Windows servers older than Windows Server 2022 are not compatible with .NET 4.8.1. To resolve this, install .NET Framework 4.8 instead:
Download the .NET Framework 4.8 Offline Installer from Microsoft
Close all open applications before running the installer
Right-click the installer and select Run as administrator
Follow the prompts to complete installation
Re-launch the Lyrebird installer — it should now proceed without the error
A system restart may be required if the issue persists.
I'm seeing a Genie API error (-15760 or -15703) on WS_PR_GetFreeAppts. Is this a problem?
No - this is a known issue with the Test Connection button on remote installer versions older than 2026.05.26.
It does not affect the integration itself - simply proceed with setup as normal.
