Enabling the Lyrebird Integration (Bp Premier)

A quick guide on adding the integration

Updated today

To get to the step in the video below, you must be logged into Bp Premier. Then, open a patient file (a test one), and click the blue L in the top navigation bar.

The first step of using Lyrebird inside Bp Premier is enabling the integration, it is a very simple step that involves ticking a box ☑

Why?

It allows Lyrebird to:

  • Read and write the patient file in Bp Premier

How to enable the integration

  1. Ensure you have Best Practice Service Pack 2, read BP’s guide on how to update your BP to Orchid SP2.

  2. Head to the first page of Bp Premier, select Setup, then Configuration

  3. Click Database, then Setup third party integrations

  4. Search Lyrebird Health and tick the box ☑

Step 2 of connecting your Lyrebird account with Bp Premier is taking the account key and passing it to Bp Premier.

Why do you need to do this?

It allows Lyrebird to:

  • Read the patient file (only the name and sex)

  • Send notes back to the patient file

  • Add observations directly to the observation table

  • Automatically log in each time

How to link the accounts

  1. Make sure you have completed Step 1

  2. In your Lyrebird account, copy your Bp Premier Account Key

    1. To find this, head to your settings (you can’t access your settings from the Bp Premier browser, so you may need to open Lyrebird in an external browser, click here)

    2. Once in settings, go to integrations and select Bp Premier and then integrate to find your Bp Premier Account Key

    3. Copy the account key and return to Bp Premier

  1. In Bp Premier, go to the home screen, choose 'Setup’, then choose ‘Users

4. Select the user who’s Lyrebird key has been copied

5. Select Lyrebird Health in the bottom right corner, then paste the API key that you copied earlier

Congratulations, the integration is now completely set up.
