BP Free is a free version of Lyrebird available to Australian clinicians who use Best Practice. It gives you unlimited AI-generated consult notes inside your normal Best Practice workflow, so you can finish documentation faster without paying for a subscription.
Who is BP Free for?
BP Free is for clinicians using Best Practice Premier who want to try Lyrebird inside their existing workflow. You are moved onto BP Free automatically once you connect your Lyrebird account to Best Practice, so there is nothing extra to purchase or sign up for.
BP Free is specific to Best Practice users in Australia. To keep your BP Free access, log in to Lyrebird through Best Practice rather than the standalone web app.
What's included?
BP Free is a more limited version of Lyrebird than Pro, and its limits work differently to Lyrebird Lite. Your plan includes:
Unlimited actions for Notes and Standard Dictate
10 actions per month for AI Edit, Smart Dictate, and Documents combined
20 actions in total for Workflows (including CCMP, Health Assessments, and Personalisation), starting from the day BP Free was activated on your account
Document sharing and access to community-shared templates
The Best Practice integration, so notes and letters save back into the patient record
⚠️ Tip: The 20 Workflow actions on BP Free are a one-time allowance, not a monthly one. Once they are used they do not reset. If you rely on Workflows, Documents, AI Edit, or Smart Dictate regularly, Pro removes these limits entirely.
When do my limits reset?
Your monthly allowance (the 10 combined actions for AI Edit, Smart Dictate, and Documents) resets on the 1st of each calendar month.
Your Notes and Standard Dictate are unlimited, so there is nothing to reset there. The 20 Workflow actions are a one-time total from when BP Free was activated and do not reset.
Why upgrade to Lyrebird Pro?
BP Free is a great way to solve day-to-day note-taking, but it is intentionally limited for wider clinic documentation. Lyrebird Pro removes those limits and unlocks the full platform. With Pro you get:
Unlimited Documents, Letters, AI Edit, and Smart Dictate — no monthly cap, so referral letters, patient letters, and certificates are always available
Unlimited Workflows, including care plans (CCMP), Health Assessments, and Personalisation, with no one-time allowance to run out

How to upgrade to Pro
You can move off BP Free yourself at any time:
Go to Settings
Select Subscription
Choose Upgrade to Pro and follow the prompts
