Customise your notes

Customise your notes to match your unique style.

Updated over a month ago

We understand the importance of having your notes sound exactly like you.

Through our customisation, you can customise your notes to match your unique style. Edit the headings, structure, content, and tone of voice to mimic the way that you write consult notes.

What are notes?

Notes in Lyrebird are files used to document various aspects of a patient consult. These notes can follow different structures, such as ‘SOAP’, ‘Chief Complaint’, and ‘Multiple Complaints’.

By default, there are some default note templates in your note library.

Why customise note templates?

Customise by creating your own note template in Lyrebird if you have a format or structure in place that you already love!

How to customise note templates?

There are two ways to customise notes:

  • Edit a default note - This is ideal for minor edits. To get started on customising a default note, click here.

  • Create your own note - This is great for incorporating specific headings, structures, and tone of voice. To get started on creating and customising your own document, click here.

How to write instructions to Lyrebird?

Write instructions to Lyrebird to change the notes to suit your style. The key to success is to provide instructions in a clear and concise manner with very specific instructions. You generally want to type instructions to Lyrebird in a similar way to how you'd speak to a human. Read our examples below for some ideas.

Examples

Add a new heading called “Medications”. Write into the instructions:

“Always add an additional heading called “Medications”. In this section, include all historical and current medications.”

Add more detail about a patient’s eating habits. Write into the instructions:

“I find it very important that you include as much detail as possible regarding the patients eating habits, you must listen and include as much detail as possible regarding the patients eating habits if mentioned.”

Add less detail. Write into the instructions:

“Make the notes more concise, only include absolutely relevant medical information and exclude any personal or non-essential information. I don't want you to use superfluous language. Where necessary sacrifice grammatical correctness to use fewer words.”

Remove information. Write into the instructions:

“I don't want to include the "Social History" of the patient anywhere it my notes. You should never include it and remove it for every set of notes as it is unnecessary”

You can always continue refining your Lyrebird to give it the context to best understand your preferences. If you find your customisation is not being used as much as you would like, you can use stronger words and include examples to instruct Lyrebird.

The best part of Lyrebird is that it is an intelligent AI, so how you write your customisation is completely up to you.
