Customise a default note template
Updated over a week ago

Customise a default document if there are minor edits or changes that you want Lyrebird to include.

If you have preferences for specific headings, structure, or format, try creating your own note (link).

How to view and edit a default document

  1. From the “Customise” page, within the “Note templates” tab, click the default note template you would like to edit.

Default notes can be identified via the "Default" text bubble on them

Within the document edit page, you can customise the document on the left-side of the screen, whilst seeing a preview of those edits on the right-side.

How to customise your note templates?

A customised document is segmented into sections. Within each section, you can customise four aspects:

  • The section’s heading

  • Select the length preference

  • Provide customisation instructions

Headings

Rename a heading by editing the textbox in the top-left of the relevant section.

Length of section

Choose whether you would like the length of the section to be more concise or more verbose by selecting Shorter, Regular or Longer.

Instructions

Every section of your document is completely customisable and can be changed by entering instructions in the "Instruction" text box. It's best to think of the instructions you enter here almost as if you are talking to a real medical scribe. This is similar to the way you customise your notes.

For example

Ask Lyrebird to always start a section with a specific phrase.

"Always start this section with "Thank you for your referral"

Ask Lyrebird to change the way a section is written or add more detail for a specific information.

"Provide comprehensive detail around any physical examination performed including all objective tests conducted"

Ask Lyrebird to remove information for a specific section.

"Never include imaging results or scans in this section"

Explain to Lyrebird how much detail you want included in a section.

"This section should be a very short and concise 1-2 sentences."

Or

"Each point in this section should be 1-2 words, without going info further explanations."

Lyrebird automatically saves your instructions as demonstrated by the "Saved" icon in the top left.

How to rearrange the sections

Rearrange sections by clicking and holding the specific section with your mouse, then dragging it to your desired position. Upon releasing the mouse, the section will seamlessly slot into place.

How to delete a section

Delete a document section by clicking the trash can icon in the top right corner of the section. Once deleted, the section will state “This section has been hidden”

How to preview your customisation

Preview the customisation of your document by selecting a patient’s notes in the top-right. See how your changes affect the document in real-time, and make any quick adjustments to the left-side pane.

If you have saved patient consults, instantly visualise your customisation based on that consultation.

If you do not have saved patient consults, select “Mock patient” to see a sample document preview

More Examples

To add more detail:

"You must include all education and advice given to the patient during the consult in complete detail in the "Plan" section. Even if this seems like general chatter you must still include all of it in your notes as its important"

To make it more concise:

“Make the notes more concise, only include absolutely relevant medical information and exclude any personal or non-essential information. Do not use superfluous language, where necessary sacrifice grammatical correctness to use fewer words.”
