Patient Summary Tab

The Patient Summary tab has been added to show the patient context automatically when you start a consult, eliminating the need to switch between Best Practice and your consultation notes.

What is the Patient Summary tab?

When you begin a consult through Lyrebird on Best Practice, the Patient Summary tab now displays by default instead of the notepad. This gives you immediate access to critical patient information - medical history, allergies, medications, and recent visits - so you can quickly review important information before starting the consult without needing to switch back to the patient file.

This can also be viewed once you click "Stop listening."

Benefits of the Patient Summary Tab

  • Faster clinical decision-making: Immediate access to patient context at the start of each consult, allowing you to provide informed care to your patient.

  • Reduced context switching: Less time moving between Best Practice and your consult window

  • Flexible workflow: Customise the default tab to match your preferred consultation process

What if I prefer to use the Notepad as my default tab? Can I change the default that the Consult page uses?

If you prefer to start consults with the Notepad as your default tab, you can change your default through your user preferences:

  1. Open the Customise section.

  2. Locate the "Default Consult Tab" drop down on the General page.
Here you can select your preferred tab from the dropdown between the Notepad or Patient Summary)

  3. Save your changes

Your selection will apply to all new consults you start going forward.
