Lyrebird now automatically extracts past medical history from your consults and displays it in a structured review panel before you save. This gives you a quick opportunity to check that important history items have been captured accurately, helping you save records to Best Practice faster and with greater confidence.
What is this feature?
After you complete a consult, Lyrebird extracts past medical history information that was discussed during the appointment. It then cross-checks these extracted conditions against the patient's existing past history records, automatically filtering out any that are already recorded. Only new conditions are presented in a dedicated review panel, where you can see all new items in one place before you finalise and save your consultation note to Best Practice.
Why review past medical history?
Taking a moment to review the extracted history before saving offers several benefits:
Verifies that important history items have been recognised and captured correctly
Allows you to add any missing history items that the system may not have identified
Reduces the risk of incomplete or inaccurate historical records
Speeds up the overall consultation workflow by catching issues before they're saved
How to use this feature
Once your consult ends, the review panel will automatically appear on your screen:
Review the list of past medical history items that Lyrebird has extracted from the consult
Check each item to ensure it accurately reflects what was discussed
If you notice any missing history, use the Add item button to include it
If any item is incorrect or no longer relevant, select it and use Remove to delete it
Once you're satisfied with the review, select Save to Best Practice to finalise your consultation record
Tips for best results
đĄ Tip: If you're unsure whether a history item is accurate, you can review the consult transcript directly from the review panel to confirm what was discussed.
For the most reliable history extraction, speak clearly during your consult and ensure that any past medical history is mentioned explicitly. Lyrebird works best when history items are stated directly rather than implied.
