Lyrebird Health has five main pages:
Consult | Dictate | History | Customise | Settings
Consult is the page in Lyrebird that helps to generate your notes so you can focus your time and attention on your patient. Lyrebird listens in the background of your consultation with the patient, converting the conversation into your clinical notes.
Once you stop the recording, you can view your notes and create any letters and assessments you need.
How to start a consult
Input the patient's name and sex (optional).
Click Start listening and select whether it is an initial or review consult.
Ensure the patient provides consent (see more information about asking for consent here).
Conduct the consult as you normally would, verbalising findings where possible, or adding in non-verbalised notes in the notepad.
What are the different consult types?
There are two consult types in Lyrebird:
Initial consult: An initial consult is best for the first time seeing a patient. It will capture more of the patients history, and provide a more detailed recount of the patient encounter.
Review consult: A review consult is good for a follow up appointment with a patient. It will assume that you're already familiar with the patients medical history, and focus on progress since the previous consult, and any new presenting problems.
Pausing a Consult
If you would simply like to Pause listening (to resume the consult shortly), you can click the 'pause' button. This will stop Lyrebird listening, but will not generate or save your note yet. If you would like to generate your notes, you will need to click 'stop listening'.
To resume your consult after pausing, you can click 'Resume' in the top righthand corner.
Ending a Consult
After you've finished the consultation with a patient, click Stop listening. Lyrebird will show you a generating screen and it should take less than 1 minute before your notes are produced.
Resuming a Consult
If you have already clicked 'Stop listening', and you decide that you would like to resume a consult, you can click 'Resume consult' to continue recording.
If you have already clicked 'Stop listening', moved to another patient and decided you would like to resume a consult later on: go to History, open the consult you would like to resume, and click 'Resume consult' in the top righthand corner.
Approaching consent
Patient consent is required for all consults with a patient.
