This article is for organisation admins. Clinicians looking to manage their personal account settings should see the Account settings reference.
User roles in Lyrebird
Role | What they can do |
Clinician | Run consults, dictate, access their own notes and history, customise personal templates |
Admin | Everything a clinician can do, plus: invite/remove users, view organisation settings, manage billing |
Typist | Access the Type Pool to review and edit notes assigned to them — cannot run consults |
Inviting a new user
Go to Settings → Organisation → Manage
Click Invite Members
Enter the user's email address and select their role (Admin, Member)

Invitations expire after 7 days. To resend an expired invitation, go to Users → find the pending invite → click Resend.
How to Join an Organisation? ( once you've been invited )
The user will receive an email invitation with a link to join your organisation. If they already have a Lyrebird account, they'll be added automatically upon accepting. If they're new to Lyrebird, they'll be prompted to create an account first.
Changing a user's role
Go to Settings → Organisation → Manage
Find the user and click Edit

Select the new role from the dropdown
Click Save
Changes take effect immediately.
Removing a user from the organisation
Go to Settings → Organisation → Manage
Find the user and click Edit

Click on Remove member
Confirm the removal
What happens to their data:
The user loses access to your organisation immediately, however they still have access to their notes/documents till the retention period that is set in their preferences
If their subscription was paid for by the organisation, it would automatically get cancelled and the organisation would be credited for the un-used time.
If the user had a Lyrebird account which was self billed, their account and data will remain unaffected.
How to manage Organisation billing?
If you have more than 1 person in your organisation, go to Settings → Organisation → click ‘Billing’
Click ‘Add payment method’
Select which users will be paid for:
Select 'full-time' and 'part-time' users, and choose if you want to pay for that user by changing the blue toggle.
In this example, I would be paying for two part-time users. The discount will be automatically applied based on the information for your organisation.
5. Add your billing information, and apply any additional discount code if applicable.
Viewing active users
Go to Settings → Organisation → Manage to see a list of all active users, their roles, and when they last signed in.
