How Can I Enable Lyrebird on BP & Link My Account?

Here is a step by step guide to enable Lyrebird for your practice, and to link your account to Bp Premier

Step 1 - Enabling Lyrebird on BP

This will allow the L button to appear when initiating a patient visit, allowing clinicians to use Lyrebird Health from within BP. This process only takes a minute to do!

This must be done by the Practice Manager or Admin of your Bp Premier account, and it enables the integration at the practice/clinic level.

  1. Ensure you're using Best Practice Orchid SP2 or later​.
    Here's a guide on how to update your Bp, if required.

  2. In Bp, navigate to "Setup", then "Configuration."

  3. Select "Database", then click "Setup third-party integrations."

  4. Locate "Lyrebird Health (via Halo Connect)" in the list and tick the checkbox to enable it, then simply click Close on that window.


This step allows Lyrebird to read and write patient data within Bp when opening it via the L button on the patient visit:


Step 2 - Linking the Accounts

Step 2 of connecting your Lyrebird account with Bp Premier is taking the account key and passing it to Bp Premier. This process takes a couple minutes to do!

Why do you need to do this? It allows Lyrebird to:

  • Populate the patient's name and sex automatically

  • Send notes back to the patient file

  • Add observations directly to the observation table

  • Automatically log in each time

How to link the accounts

  1. Make sure you have completed Step 1.

  2. In your Lyrebird account, copy your BP Account Key.

    1. To find this, head to your "Settings" (you can get these either Lyrebird within Bp, or in an external browser by click here)

  3. In Bp Premier, go to the home screen, choose 'Setup’, then choose ‘Users.

  4. Select the user who’s Lyrebird key has been copied.

  5. Select Lyrebird Health in the bottom right corner, then paste the API key that you copied earlier. Then click Save.

Congratulations, the integration is now completely set up! You can now work seamlessly between Lyrebird and BP.
