Documents created during live dictation can now be sent directly back to your supported EMR, eliminating the need to copy content manually. This streamlines your workflow when working from a launched consultation session.
Please note: This feature is currently available to users in the UK only. You must have a supported EMR integration and launch your consultation from that EMR to use this feature.
What does this do?
When you create or dictate a document during a consultation launched from your EMR, you can now send it directly back to that system without manually copying the content. This integration saves time, reduces transcription errors, and keeps your patient records up to date automatically. The document is securely transmitted to your EMR, where it appears in the patient's record ready for review and filing.
Step-by-Step Guide
Launch a Consultation from Your EMR
From your supported EMR, select the patient and click the option to launch a Lyrebird consultation session
This creates a direct connection between Lyrebird and your EMR for that session
Create or Dictate Your Document
During the consultation, create your document using Lyrebird's live dictation or composition tools
Review your content to ensure it's accurate and complete before proceeding
Review the Document Content
Once the document is drafted, review all fields and content on screen
Make any final edits or adjustments as needed
Send the Document Back to Your EMR
Look for the Send to EMR button or similar option (the exact label may vary depending on your EMR)
Click this button to transmit the document directly to your EMR system
A confirmation message will appear to confirm the document has been sent
Confirm the Document is Saved in Your EMR
Return to your EMR to verify the document has appeared in the patient's record
The document should be immediately available for review, signing, or further action as required by your workflow
Tips for Best Results
Check that your EMR is in Lyrebird's supported integrations list before setting up the feature
Double-check document content before sending — some EMRs may lock documents once received for audit compliance
Confirm the document appears in your EMR within a few seconds of sending; if it doesn't arrive, check your internet connection and EMR permissions
Some EMRs require specific field mappings or additional setup — contact your EMR vendor if the send-back feature isn't appearing
The send-back feature works with all of Lyrebird's document creation methods: live dictation, transcription, and manual composition
